Winter Pruning Workshop and Tasting Session
Winter Pruning Workshop and Tasting Session
Join our tea manager, Gavin, on Saturday, March 22nd from 1:00 to 5:00 pm to learn how to perform key maintenance pruning on your tea plants during the off-season. In this workshop, you will start out in the field and nursery, learning how to prune both mature plants and seedlings in preparation for the spring. Both hand pruning and mechanical techniques will be covered.
After pruning, everyone will head into the tea room to taste a selection of winter harvested teas to learn what sorts of unique flavors and aromas can be coaxed out of leaves harvested from dormant plants. This will include two MITCo. teas made just for this event. Light snacks will be included.
A 4 hour event, the pruning portion of the workshop will take place from 1:00 to 3:00, and the tasting session from 3:00 to 5:00. This will be a hands-on workshop, so come prepared to bend, squat, stand, and otherwise move around as you are able! Attendees will be emailed several days in advance regarding appropriate dress for the weather.

In the event that you have to cancel, we will give a full refund for those who provide at least 10 days advance notice, and a refund of half the cost after that. There will be no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance, since it's pretty challenging for us to fill a vacant spot on such short notice!
