24 grams of loose leaf Camellia sinensis, grown, handpicked, and processed right here on our farm in Salem, OR in May 2023. This is the first tea we produce each year, and is the purest distillation of our fresh spring growth. It is extremely fragrant and has gentle but lasting flavor.

This year’s green has a more potent, uplifting energy than the past couple years. It’s an excellent tea for small social gatherings, as it seems to make everyone just a bit more upbeat and conversational! You can brew it according to the recommendations on the box, but we prefer drinking it in a series of small, fast steeps. We often drink it out of a gaiwan or an unglazed Japanese teapot, using around 5 grams per 100ml of water at around 170F. When drinking this way, we also suggest giving the tea a very quick rinse before the first steeping. It also brews up quite well “grandpa style”.
